Japanese Facial Massage FAQ

If you’re new to Kobido, knowing what to expect in a Kobido Massage Session can help you feel relaxed and prepared.

How to prepare for your Kobido Session?

No special preparation is needed - just come as you are. If possible, arrive without makeup and remove earrings and necklaces beforehand, so we can spend more time enjoying the massage. Comfortable clothing is recommended.

How long does a Facelift Kobido / Hadado Massage last?

The Japanese Facelift Ritual includes a 75-minute massage; the Advanced Japanese Facelift Ritual lasts 90 minutes. Please allow approximately 1 hour 30 minutes or 1 hour 45 minutes for your full visit, including a short consultation, time to slowly transition afterwards and herbal tea.

What is the difference between the Japanese Facelift Ritual and the Advanced Japanese Facelift Ritual?

Both rituals combine Japanese facial massage techniques with deep relaxation and natural facial lifting.

The Advanced Japanese Facelift Ritual allows for more targeted work on your individual needs, with extra time and focus on areas such as the eyes, jawline, under-chin, neck and décolleté, as well as personalised sculpting and Gua Sha lymphatic drainage.

Choose the Advanced Ritual if you'd like more time and a deeper focus on specific areas of your face.

Which treatment should I choose?

Choose the Japanese Facelift Ritual (Kobido-Styel) for a complete, deeply restorative facial massage focused on relaxation, tension release and natural radiance.

Choose the Advanced Japanese Facelift Ritual (Kobido + Hadado Style) if you would like a longer, more personalised treatment with additional focus on specific areas such as the jawline, eyes, neck or facial tension.

Choose the Pure Glow Japanese Face Ceremony if you're looking for the most complete experience, combining facial massage with neck and shoulder release, skin nourishment and deep relaxation.

Is Kobido suitable for everyone? Are there any precautions?

Japanese facial massage (Kobido / Hadado) is suitable for most people, but may not be appropriate in certain situations, including fever or contagious illness, active skin infections or inflammation, first trimester of pregnancy, recent facial surgery or cosmetic procedures, or certain medical conditions.

After booking, you’ll receive a short health and consultation form directly via Treatwell. Please complete it before your appointment so I can review your information, prepare for your treatment and adjust the ritual to your individual needs. If anything requires clarification, I’ll contact you beforehand.

Please postpone your appointment if you have a fever, contagious illness, active skin infection, open wounds or acute inflammation in the treatment area.

If you have a medical condition, including cardiovascular conditions or blood-pressure concerns, please contact your doctor if you are unsure whether facial massage is appropriate for you.

After Botox, fillers or other cosmetic procedures, please follow the aftercare guidance provided by your treating practitioner. If you have recently had a cosmetic procedure, contact me before booking so we can determine whether your appointment should be postponed.

What should I do after a Kobido facial massage? - Kobido facial aftercare tips

Keep the rest of your day gentle if possible. Drink water, avoid heavy makeup immediately afterwards and enjoy the relaxed, refreshed feeling.

Your skin may appear slightly flushed after the treatment, which is completely normal and usually temporary.

If you're going outside afterwards, continue to protect your skin from sun exposure as part of your usual skincare routine.

(Pro tip: book your next Kobido while you’re still feeling relaxed – regular treatments stack the benefits!)

How often should I get a Kobido massage for best results?

There is no one-size-fits-all schedule. Some clients book occasionally as a moment of self-care, while others enjoy returning regularly, once every two weeks or monthly. If you would like to make facial massage part of your routine, we can find a frequency that fits your preferences, lifestyle and availability.

After your first treatment, we can discuss what type of routine feels right for you based on your preferences, lifestyle and goals.

How soon will I see results from a Kobido massage?

Many women notice a refreshed, rested and naturally radiant appearance after their first session. How your skin and face look and feel can vary from person to person and skin condition.

Can I combine the facial massage with other treatments?

Yes. You can personalise your ritual with selected enhancements such as facial taping, masks, eye lift patches and other seasonal adds-on, depending on your needs and availability.

Do you offer treatment packages?

Yes. 5- and 10-session Ritual Packages are available for both the Japanese Facelift Ritual and Advanced Japanese Facelift Ritual.

Packages are designed for women who would like to make regular facial wellness part of their routine and include additional benefits depending on the package.

Where do you offer your Kobido rituals?

You can find me in Berlin Mitte at Soul Treats Studio (Schönholzer Str. 13, 10115 Berlin) - a quiet and peaceful space right in the heart of the city. Appointments are available on selected days. Please check the booking calendar for current availability. Click here to book your ritual.

Can I book a face massage as a gift?

Absolutely. Gift cards are available for all my Japanese facial rituals - a thoughtful gift for birthdays, special occasions or simply a moment of care and deep relaxation.
